Solo game developers were posting the same setup all autumn: one agent with a Godot MCP server and a Blender MCP server, a folder of reference images for the art style, and models flowing from Blender into the game. This loadout pins both servers (@coding-solo/godot-mcp and mcp-for-blender with safe mode on and telemetry off) and adds the rules that keep it safe and shippable: save before Blender changes, look at the viewport after every step, typed GDScript, run the game and read the debug output, and a glTF export checklist so assets arrive game-ready.
What's in it
- Pinned Godot MCP and MCP for Blender servers in one config
- Blender safe mode on: no file, network or process access from scripts
- Style matched to reference images in art/reference/
- Blender to Godot glTF pipeline skill with a game-ready checklist
- Run the game and treat new debug errors as failures
You'll need
- Tools:
node,uv,godot, blender - MCP servers: godot, blender
Verification
| Check | Result | What we found |
|---|---|---|
| Listinglisting.yaml matches the schema and declares every file in the folder. | Pass | Schema valid; 6 files declared, none missing or extra
|
| Files parseJSON parses; SKILL.md and .mdc front matter is valid YAML with the fields each agent needs; code fences are closed. | Pass | All 6 files parse; front matter valid |
| AdaptersCLAUDE.md imports @AGENTS.md, GEMINI.md imports @./AGENTS.md, and both match the generator. | Pass | CLAUDE.md and GEMINI.md import AGENTS.md and are up to date
|
| Install pathsEvery file lands where each agent documents it, with no collisions, and the laid-out project is re-discovered correctly. | Pass | Correct paths for all 6 agents; layouts re-discovered
|
| MCP configmcp.json is structurally valid, converts to each agent's format, declares no literal secrets, and referenced packages exist on npm/PyPI. | Pass | 2 servers valid: godot, blender
|
| Safety scanThe intake scanner finds no credentials, risky shell, hidden Unicode or prompt-injection wording, and the listing's network flag is honest. | Pass | Clean: no credentials, risky shell or hidden text
|
| ReferencesLinks and file paths between the loadout's files resolve, including for each agent's installed layout. | Pass | 3 references between files resolve for every agent |
| Size limitsFile count and sizes are within the submission limits; SKILL.md bodies stay under 500 lines. | Pass | 6 files, 4.9 KB total; largest AGENTS.md 1.8 KB
|
| LicenceA recognised SPDX licence, with the licence text available. | Pass | MIT, by Agent Loadout; text in the repository LICENSE |
| Starter buildA minimal fixture project with the loadout applied installs and builds or type-checks, and the loadout's own code examples compile. | Not applicable | Not applicable: both MCP servers drive desktop applications (Godot and Blender) that are not installed in CI
|
What this means: a script checked the files themselves: they parse, they install where each agent looks, any MCP config is sound, the safety scan is clean, references between files resolve, and, where a free and repeatable fixture exists, a small starter project builds with the loadout applied. No AI agent was run. Per-agent results ("tested with agent") are separate and stay untested until an agent actually runs.

# AGENTS.md: Godot 4 and Blender through MCP
The agent drives two tools: Godot (MCP server `godot`: launch the editor, run the project, read debug output, create
scenes and nodes) and Blender (MCP server `blender`: inspect and change the open scene, run Python in safe mode, look at
the viewport). Assets move from Blender to Godot as glTF.
## Godot
- Run the project through the `godot` server after every gameplay change and read the debug output. Errors or warnings
you caused are failures.
- Prefer editing `.gd` scripts and creating scenes through the server's scene tools. Hand-edit `.tscn` only for small,
obvious changes; keep `uid://` references intact.
- Typed GDScript (`var speed: float = 200.0`), signals for decoupling, one responsibility per scene.
- If the server cannot find Godot, ask the human to set `GODOT_PATH` to the Godot executable in the MCP config.
## Blender
- The human saves the `.blend` before you start. You never save over it without asking; save variants as `<name>-v<n>.blend`.
- Safe mode stays on (`BLENDER_MCP_SAFE_MODE=1`): scripts that touch files, the network or other programs are blocked.
Do not ask to turn it off. If a blocked script is needed, explain why and let the human decide.
- After every change, use the viewport look tool to check the result before continuing.
- Match the style in `art/reference/` (images the human provides): palette, proportions, polygon budget. Look at them first.
- Keep models game-ready: applied transforms, origin at the base, real-world scale (1 unit = 1 m), named objects and
materials, modest polygon counts.
- Imported third-party assets keep their licence and credit. Record source and licence in `art/CREDITS.md`.

- Skills from this loadout live in `.claude/skills/`: `blender-to-godot`. Use them when their description matches the task.
- MCP servers for this project are in `.mcp.json`. If a server is not connected, tell the human rather than working around it.
- Follow AGENTS.md above; where this file and AGENTS.md disagree, AGENTS.md wins.

# Blender to Godot
1. **Brief.** Restate the asset: purpose, size in metres, polygon budget, style references from `art/reference/`.
2. **Build in Blender** with the `blender` tools: block out, refine, materials. Look at the viewport from several angles
after each step. Keep to `references/asset-checklist.md`.
3. **Prepare for export**: apply transforms, set the origin, name the object and its materials, remove unused data.
4. **Export** glTF binary to `assets/models/<name>.glb` inside the Godot project, selected objects only, +Y up.
Use a short Blender script through the MCP tool if needed; safe mode allows normal export.
5. **Import in Godot.** Godot imports `.glb` on focus or project run. Instance it in the target scene with the `godot`
scene tools (or a small `.tscn` edit), set collision if gameplay needs it.
6. **Run** the project through the `godot` server, read the debug output, and fix import or script errors.
7. **Report**: file paths, polygon count, any licence credits added to `art/CREDITS.md`, and what the human should look at. Skill file skills/blender-to-godot/references/asset-checklist.md Game-ready asset checklist. 12 lines
# Game-ready asset checklist
- [ ] Scale: 1 Blender unit = 1 metre; a door is about 2 m tall
- [ ] Transforms applied (location, rotation, scale); origin at the base or the pivot gameplay needs
- [ ] Object, mesh and material names are meaningful (`crate_wood`, not `Cube.004`)
- [ ] Polygon count within the brief's budget; no hidden or duplicate geometry
- [ ] Normals face outwards; smooth/flat shading chosen on purpose
- [ ] Materials use Principled BSDF with image textures (these export cleanly to glTF)
- [ ] Textures packed or saved next to the `.glb`, power-of-two sizes
- [ ] Exported as `.glb`, selected objects only, +Y up
- [ ] Third-party assets: source and licence recorded in `art/CREDITS.md` All files: source zip · Licence MIT · By Agent Loadout · First listed
